Pune is one of the fast growing metro cities with mostly young student population, mainly from various parts of India and abroad. At the foothill of Sahyadri Mountains, Pune is just 160 km away from Mumbai- India's film capital.

The Institute of Moving Images is located at Fergusson College Road, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.

AC Buses & Taxies

In every 15 minutes, the comfortable air-conditioned buses & taxies regularly ply between Mumbai and Pune via Express Highway and take nearly 4 hours of travel time. To reach IMI, get down at Pune University Gate or Deccan Gymkhana, Pune and take an Auto rickshaw for BMCC Road. It will cost appox. Rs.50/-.

Trains

The Railway Station of Pune is well connected by trains from all major cities of the country. The train journey from Mumbai will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. IMI campus is just 5kms. from Pune Railway Station and can safely be reached by Auto-rickshaws or taxi round the clock at a reasonable charges of approximately Rs. 60/- and Rs. 150/-respectively.

Air Travel

Pune airport is connected mainly by domestic flights from most of major cities of India. The nearest international airport to Pune is Mumbai. It takes half an hour to reach Pune from Mumbai by Airways. Distance from Pune airport to the IMI campus is approximately 12km.

General Information

The working hours of the administrative office of the institute are from 10am to 6pm on all weekdays. However, all IMI facilities for students - Studio, Library and Cafeteria are open all the days - 8am to 8pm. The outside visitors are welcomed and taken to campus tour only on Fridays between 4pm to 6pm which includes a chance to see how students are immersed in their creative world of filmmaking and a screening of student films
